Recipes from around the world ~ Malvapoeding

Today I'm coming back home in my world recipes, and bringing you a traditional South African baked dessert. It's called Malvapoeding...

Ingredients
1 Cup of milk
1 tbs of butter
1 tbs apricot jam
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbs red wine vinegar
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
Sauce
1 Cup whipping cream
1/2 cup milk
6 tbs butter
1/2 cup sugar

Method
1. Heat the milk, butter and jam over in a sauce pan till the butter is melted. Set aside.
2.Beat the egg and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Add the vinegar to the milk mixture, which will curdle, and fold into the egg mixture with the flour and baking soda.
4. Scoop into a 9" pie dish and bake at 190 degrees Celsius for 40 - 50 minutes. Check that a skewer comes out clean.
5. Before the pudding is ready, combine the sauce ingredients in a pan and heat till boiling point, while stirring. Let it simmer for 3 minutes.
6.  Remove the pudding and cut into blocks. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the pudding and let it soak in.
7.  Serve with either whipped cream or custard.
Enjoy your traditional South African dessert.
