Artist Feature ~ The 1975

I have been a fan of The 1975 for quiet sometime. Before they actually gained popularity. I first heard their song Sex, and I thought "wow, not bad." It is almost like you have a gut feeling when you know a band is going to make it big. Not to mention Matt Healy is sexy in that bad boy kinda way!

The 1975 is an indie rock band from Manchester, England and comprises of lead vocalist Matt Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel and Ross MacDonald. The lads met at Wilmslow High School near Manchester, where they were all attending.

They started playing music in 2004 after entering a competition. They released their first EP, Facedown, in 2012 which got them their first big airtime. They released their second EP, Sex, in November of the same year.

In 2012 they also started their tour of UK and Ireland which went well into 2013. In March 2013 they released another EP called Music for Cars, which had the amazing song Chocolate on it. They also toured the USA and have been opening acts for Muse, The Rolling Stones and Bastille.

With the release of their self titled debut album, The 1975, they reworked many of the songs that were on their EP and included them in the album.

Their style is very much indie rock, with influences from many different genres. Matt's hauntingly beautiful voice is what ultimately draws you in. Their songs are mellow and definitely not over produced. You can still here the instruments in all their songs.

I love all their songs but I definitely have a few favorites...
