REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES

Real, Techniques, brushes
All around the world, Real Techniques brushes are known for not only their prettiness but also their amazing quality. I got my hands on the beautiful Core Collection and the two rose gold Bold Metals brushes in the beginning of the year and they have changed the way I apply my makeup forever.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection - 300 Tapered Blush Brush

Real, Techniques, 300, tapered, blush

How is it possible for any brush to feel this soft? The beautiful tapered blush brush was the first brush I bought from Real Techniques. With the soft, tapered bristles, applying blush is a breeze with this baby. It picks up product with ease and applies effortlessly. The weighted ferrules sit comfortably in your hand and feel so high quality. Definitely a brush any brush lover needs to have in their collection.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection - 301 Flat Contour Brush

Real, Techniques, 301. Flat, contour

You have seen the NARS Ita Kabuki brush, famously used by YouTube beauty gurus all over the world. It makes contouring a breeze and I wanted to get my hands on it so badly. But then Real Techniques presented the world with their 301 flat contour brush, and I didn't want the Nars one anymore. Densely packed bristles make applying contour so much simpler. The brush picks up a lot of product, so you will need to tap off a little, to get just the right amount. Using a stippling motion to apply the the product into the hollows of the cheeks, and then using soft, sweeping motions to blend it seamlessly into your skin.

Real Techniques Core Collection - Buffing Brush

My favorite brush out of all the brushes. I have used many brushes to apply my foundation but this one takes the gold medal. The soft bristles are gentle on your face, and when using a buffing method, your foundation applies flawlessly. I use this with a liquid foundation, but it can also be used with powder and mineral foundation.

Real Techniques Core Collection - Contour Brush

I know this is meant to be a contour brush, but I already have my 301 for that. So I have found a better way to use this brush. Once I have applied my under eye concealer, I use the contour brush to blend it seamlessly together with my foundation. It is small enough to get under the eyes and the bristles are soft enough, so it doesn't pull the gentle eye area.

Real Techniques Core Collection - Pointed Foundation Brush

I don't like using a flat foundation brush to apply my foundation, only because I don't like the full coverage look. So I rather used this brush to apply my under eye concealer. It gets in close to the bottom lashes and again the soft synthetic bristles are great for the under eye area.

Real Techniques Core Collection - Detailer Brush

I have to admit when I first saw this brush I didn't have an idea what I would use it for. I don't wear lipstick so I couldn't use it for that. So I decided I was going to use it for spot concealing and for applying concealer under brows. You know, to make sure they look like perfection. It is small enough to get right under the brows, and also blends the concealer perfectly. I really love this brush now!

Out of all the Real Techniques brushes, my favorites are definitely the Core Collection Buffing brush and the Bold Metals 300 Tapered Blush brush. You can purchase your Real Techniques brushes from selected Woolworths and Foschini branches. Or if you are like me and not in the mood to go searching, you can order all the Real Techniques brushes from Takealot.com. The prices range from R 115 - R 450 on Takealot.com
